Lights! Camera! Action!

A stage. A chair. Bright lights illuminate the chair as darkness engulfs the rest of the room. Cameras and recording equipment face the stage. The professional crew prepares to record an author reading her latest book.

Such was my recent experience at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. Special thanks to the Kravis’s Director of Education: her kind invitation began the process for the highly trained crew to record me reading Daisy, Darn It! Carefully observant of pandemic protocols, the experienced team of film-makers helped me feel at ease as I sat in the spotlight, waiting for the signal to begin.

I had fun reading Daisy, Darn It! Rascally Daisy was smiling down from kitty heaven as I read—or so it seemed to me. I could sense her happiness that the story of her daily routine is going to find an audience. Pradip Chakraborty’s illustrations bring Daisy’s antics to life, as you will see in the video of my reading.  Although the book is not yet in print, it will be soon, so Daisy and I hope those who love or remember a rambunctious pet will want to purchase their very own copy.

After enjoying your time with Daisy, please avail yourself of the other Storycorner book readings. There’s no such thing as too many good stories in this crazy world!

A rascally cat named Daisy acts more like a kitten then a full-grown cat. Expect lots of giggles as author Deborah Lee Prescott tells the story of her beloved Daisy and all the ways she likes to “help” around the house. From knocking over glasses full of water to surprise attacks that startle the dog, you’ll soon discover why Daisy thinks her real name is DAISY, DARN IT!
