Daisy
Your long-hoped-for dream has come true! You will have to witness your realized dream from Kitty Heaven, but I hope that you, my sweet girl, will be happy. Here’s why: Taylor and Seale Publishing will soon print your very own book (that I helped with a little), Daisy, Darn It!
In this children’s picture book, Daisy tells the story of how she got her name—I mean, her nickname—of “Daisy, Darn It!” The talented illustrator of Mazel Tov, Mitzvah!, Pradip Chakraborty, is putting the finishing touches to his artwork for the Daisy book. I have approved all of the sketches, so he is in the process of filling out the art with color.
My hope is that Daisy will amuse her readers with her daily rascally antics. She was constantly doing something that resulted in my exasperated cry, “Daisy, darn it!” However, I knew she was either trying to help or she was just being her own silly self. Every evening, love and harmony was restored.
Audience members will witness the Mitzvah-the-dog and Daisy-the-cat dynamic when the play, A Mitzvah For Daisy, co-created by Don Butler and me, will be performed for school children.
Daisy, welcome to the wonderful world of children’s picture books!
