Dear friends around the world,

Dear friends around the world:

With sorrow, I must share the news that Mitzvah has passed away.

Although her early life appeared to have had many challenges, once she came to live with me, she knew only love and joy. The way she triumphed over her blindness was a constant inspiration to me—so much so that my play-writing co-author and I are creating a children’s play about her.

The veterinarian who took care of Mitzvah sent me flowers on the day of her death, along with these lovely words:

"We will all miss Mitzvah. She was an amazing dog who was always the star."

And a star she is. If you have found Mitzvah the lovable, charming, fun dog that she was, think about giving your own pet a special hug or a treat in her honor today.

Perhaps you might donate to a group that takes care of animals. Mitzvah will continue to live on, in the memories of her many friends, and most especially, in my heart.

Thank you,
Lee, Mitzvah's human mom
